ALL TALK

During the summer of 2005 I met daily with a group of young friends living in Wallacetown, Ayr. Working with sound as our medium we interviewed local residents before venturing outside of Wallacetown to collect further ambient sounds in local gardens, an animal enclosure, a stamp works, a go carting centre, the beach park, a sports centre, a football match and a railway garage. Then, one day in August, we took over three of Wallactowns public spaces. Via professional sound systems, compositions of our collected sounds and interviews transformed the spaces. We made a short book and CD and had an exhibition at Rozelle Galleries.

Commissioned by Wallacetown Tenants and Residents Association and South Ayrshire Council, and part of the World Youth Congress 2005.
