OPA
Ranging from subtle interventions such as newspaper headline boards, park flowerbed signs and the replacement of the Marine Cafe’s ceramic mugs to bold street signs and a new town flag, the 15 art works all containing text were installed throughout Girvan town for 28 days, with an accompanying map during August 2004. Made by 15 people, over 60 years of age, who live in Girvan, and involving the help of many other people in the community.
OPA short film which captured the installation and interviews was made by Johnnie O’Byrne and exhibited at The McKechnie Institute and Maclaurin Galleries.
